Roger Federer, the legendary Swiss tennis player, has once again chosen to enjoy the charms of the Croatian coast this summer. With his wife Mirka and friends, he is cruising the Adriatic, and his yacht has sailed into the Čikat Bay on Lošinj, where he decided to spend the evening.
Federer dined at the Japanese restaurant Matsunoki, located within the luxurious Hotel Bellevue. In addition to exquisite cuisine, the evening was filled with smiles, as captured in a photo that appeared on the hotel's social media.
The Hotel Bellevue shared the photo on their Instagram profile, expressing their delight at the encounter. "Judging by the smiles on the faces of the tennis legend who needs no introduction, the head chef of Matsunoki, Orhan, and our wine program manager, Filip, it was a dinner worthy of a champion. It was a great honor to once again host Roger Federer at Matsunoki, the restaurant of Hotel Bellevue, which holds a Michelin Guide recommendation," the post read.
The key to Federer's connection to Lošinj lies in his long-standing friendship with Ivan Ljubičić, a former Croatian tennis player and one of his key coaches. It was Ljubičić, who has a prestigious tennis academy on the island, who recommended the "island of vitality," known for its mild microclimate and healing air.
This is not the first time the famous tennis player has spent his summer vacation in Croatia. In July 2023, he visited Krka National Park and patiently posed for photos with fans. Two years earlier, in July 2021, he spent his holiday on Lošinj, accompanied by his wife Mirka and Ljubičić, and they were joined by the famous footballer Thierry Henry.
